In 2012, in a small schoolhouse room on the Youth Reach Houston property, Inner Cry Ministries founders Brodon and Christa Park were seeking the heart of God for their next season of life and ministry.
Christa kept hearing, “there is a deep inner cry in each one of us that longs to know God and to be known by God” (a deep calling out to deep, helping them find the God who hears their inner cry).
These words helped give expression to the things God was doing in their hearts. In short, helping others hear, find and follow God who hears our inner cry established the foundation of Inner Cry Ministries; a ministry focused on serving others to hear His voice of love over their lives in the most intimate, hidden places of their soul.
In 2014, they began a weekly gathering with 45-50 teens from the local high school who were seeking to know more about God. From this two-year-long weekly gathering of food, fun and teaching, Refuge Mission Church was eventually established. The heart of this Church community was to see people healed, restored, equipped and sent out. Little did they know, they would be the first to be sent.
In September 2015, during a season of prayer and fasting, the Lord invited them to return to where they had served Youth Reach Gulf Coast establishing a residential ministry for troubled men (ages 18-23) from 2002 to 2004, the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Our mandate was missional in purpose: to simply serve those God brought before us. Since they arrived, there have been many who they have had the honor of serving through healing and restoration ranging from young leaders, those coming out of addiction and abuse as well as those struggling in their marriages and walking through family crisis.
